Come and join us for an evening that celebrates our community, local food and local talent.
École Glenmore Elementary has organized a great evening of film and music to help raise funds for its "Grow Up Greener" school garden project. It's the first of its kind in the Kelowna school district and is used by teachers and students for a project-based approach to the curriculum and for understanding the value of local food production and building a strong community.
The theme for the event is "Locally Grown," so Kelowna filmmaker and poet, Marc Arellano will screen his recent documentary "Strange Fruit: A Changing Landscape in The Central Okanagan" and music will be performed by local talent from École Glenmore Elementary, and Okanagan College-Tom Esson, John Lent and The Rowdymen.
Keeping to the theme of locally grown, The Habitat will feature food specials made up of locally grown ingredients. It will be a great night of film, food and fine music.
