Seventh RainWith their 3rd album The Ghost In Me
released August 11, 2009, Alberta based pop/rockers Seventh Rain are a
songwriting force who have successfully captured their most passionate
and energetic collection of songs to date. Formed seven years ago
in Calgary, the band began their journey with strong support from
Calgary based radio stations which saw their last album Byda spawn four
singles including the top 20 radio debut of one of their singles on the
Vibe 98.5’s top 30 list. “With sing-along melodies and catchy guitar
riffs, we really feel proud of this album! We are thrilled to have some
new music for our fans and show them we are definitely ready for the
next exciting stage in our career!” exclaims lead vocalist Ryan
Williams. As their fan base continues to grow, Seventh Rain has
continued to develop a name for themselves by performing and speaking
out against bullying in schools across Canada and the United States.
Having experienced bullying themselves, the band is making an effort to
connect to students through their music. Their performances are a tool
to motivate and entertain the students and help get the message of
anti-bullying across. Most recently, the band won $200,000 for
the Amp 90.3 Rockstar contest in August of this year!
The
KnotsThe Knots formed in early 2009 when cousins Jeff Huggins and Jonny
Schmidt performed a song together at a Christmas party. They enlisted
Jeff’s long-time friend David Griffiths and began jamming and writing as
a three-piece. After a short time, Jeff’s younger brother Sean joined
the group as drummer, which allowed Jeff to better develop his vocals
and move forward on rhythm guitar. The young band began writing and
learning more songs, playing local gigs and honing their musical
talents. In the fall of 2009, Sean left the band to pursue other
interests, and Aaron Waighorn joined the group on drums. Since that
time, The Knots have gone on to receive many accolades, including
winning the New Westminster Song Search for the Olympic Torch Relay, and
most recently being crowned B.C’s Best Teen Band after a 5-month long
contest sponsored by YouThink and Tom Lee Music. The Knots continue to
develop their talents and hope to record a full-length album in the near
future.
Kingdom CloudEmerging from the shambolic ocean of wild youth comes Kingdom Cloud, a
three-piece pop group based in Kelowna, British Columbia. Formed during
a hot summer of sand and surf, these three pop ambassadors are tied
together by both family and friendship. The band consists of Laura
Jeffery on drums, Jaedan Leimert on bass and synthesizer, and Evan
Jeffery on vocals, guitar, and synthesizer. Together, they make pop
music that will fill the deepest cavern of your heart with electric
sound.
Kingdom Cloud have shared the stage with many remarkable artists,
including Plants and Animals, Yukon Blonde, We Are The City, Said The
Whale, Two Hours Traffic, Ladyhwak, Jon-Rae Fletcher, The Most Serene
Republic and Library Voices. Other performance highlights include the
opening ceremonies of the BC Summer Games at Prospera Arena (Jumbo-Trons
and all) and repeat appearances at Kelowna’s legendary “Boxing Day
Show”. Kingdom Cloud holds nothing back in the live setting, striking
the perfect balance between classic showmanship and unhinged euphoria.
