The "KELOWNACOUSTIC" Tour is here! The tour starts in Kelowna, B.C. on Feb 25th, then to Vernon on Feb 26th, and Penticton on Feb. 27th. KELOWNACOUSTIC features the acoustic stylings of local musicians Dan Oig and Thomas Kjorven.
Dan Oig is a Canadian Singer/Songwriter who moved from Toronto to follow his dreams. Dan loves making music simply because he can't see himself doing anything else. Boring 9-5 desk jobs, hard labour jobs...not for Dan. His goal is for millions to hear his music - not for fame or fortune, but as a means of refuge; people find resolve in music. Like if one of his songs helps an abused women find the courage to leave, or just a relaxing melody to fall asleep to or drive to...hopefully the two would be unrelated though. Like the sound of smooth vinyl coming through your Ipod headphones, Thomas Kjorven has defined himself by electrifying the classic feel of his groovy blues piano licks. Over 500 hours in live performances, two studio albums, an EP and four years later, Thomas brings us his latest, self-titled creation. Soulful stories and heartfelt lyrics pack his new self-titled album. “ It will keep your head bobbing from start to finish as the lyrics draw you deep into my heart” says Kjorven. “I want to capture people with a new sound and find common ground through my lyrics. My aim was to create an album that I would buy. One I would listen to on repeat in my car.” While pursuing his original dream of performing arts and theatre, Thomas found himself frequenting the drama room piano more than anything else. “ It wasn’t until then I realized that I was a musician. From then on all I wanted to do was immerse myself in the creative process of making music.” Working out of his home studio in Kelowna, BC, Thomas produces and records all of the music entirely on his own.
