Dig deep into your memories of lonely highway diners and jukeboxes playing melancholy love songs. Now taint that with smoky jazz lounges and traveling vaudeville shows and you have the Madman's Gospel - a musical experience that is not to be missed! This dynamic quintet formed in Vancouver, BC in 2009 and their self-titled debut album will be released in October 2010. Taking the lead from landmark Canadian bands such as the New Pornographers and the Cowboy Junkies, the Madman's Gospel employs simple and honest songwriting spiked with contemporary sounds & styles. With lyrics that range from heart wrenching to downright saucy and energetic live performances - even the non-believers will soon be preaching the Madman's Gospel.
Born in the Okanagan, music was always a form of expression for Devon Bjarnason. He began playing open mics in Red Deer, AB and continued to try and play live gigs whenever the chance came about. Formed the band devonandkevin after a chance meeting with Kevin Look. Began experimenting playing solo gigs and liked the ability to showcase some of the music that wasn't being played with the band. Although he still occasionally plays as a duo, Devon enjoys the freedom music gives to be able to play and share it with anyone who wants to listen. Devon's newest album 'The Tri Colour EP' is available now.
