The following local artists are featured on K96.3’s K Comp Vol. 2, the second installation of the emerging artist compilation and K96.3 and Music BC started in 2010. The artists included on the album include The Flu, My Kind of Karma, Jayson Bendera, Mark Irving, Calum Hughes, Aaron Gordon, Dan Oig, Trinity’s Tattoo, Devon Coyote, Thomas Kjorven feat. Shameless, Jeff Piattelli and Bucknife.

The K Comp Emerging Artist Series started off in 2010 as a way for K96.3 – Kelowna’s Classic Rock to promote and lend a helping hand to local emerging artists. “In the first year of the K Comp, our main goal was to create new opportunities for our local emerging artists and to help them build relationships within the industry. How great would it be if we could discover some of the next classics in our own backyard? We are very proud of last year’s accomplishments and we are very excited to be able to provide the same opportunities for this year’s twelve K Comp artists.” quoted Dallas Gray – Station Manager.

Not only will the twelve K Comp Vol. 2 artists appear on the compilation and receive on-air recognition, but new to this year they had the opportunity to showcase at the Pop Okanagan Festival – a legacy event to replace BreakOut West that took place in Kelowna October 2010. The festival gave emerging artists the chance to gain recognition through showcasing to a varied festival audience as well as having the opportunity to open for some big name Canadian artists.
