Andrew Allen
Spend a bit of time with Andrew Allen and it quickly becomes clear why this Vernon singer, songwriter, and musician has already become a successful recording artist in his native Canada: sheer force of will. Outgoing and good-natured, with a quick, comic wit, Allen is a hurtling ball of positive energy — he just doesn’t hear the word "no." Allen came up through Canada’s Royal Conservatory School, but preferred to play his own compositions, which he began writing at age 10. He also took up the saxophone, after his parents rejected his request for a drum kit, and joined the choir, even though his friends called it social suicide.

We Are The City
Since forming in 2008, Kelowna, BC's We Are The City has become one of the most exciting and unpredictable forces in the Canadian music scene. The band soon began earning accolades for its atmospheric progressive-pop sound with the release of their debut LP In a Quiet World in 2009. In January 2010, the band earned a whopping $150,000 by winning the PEAK Performance Project, a massive "battle of the bands" contest hosted by Vancouver's 100.5 The PEAK.

In March 2011, the trio of Cayne McKenzie (vocals/keyboard), Andrew Huculiak (drums) and Blake Enemark (guitar) took their most ambitious step yet and released six songs entitled High School. We Are The City found themselves venturing into new musical terrain. On the quirky "Happy New Year," West African-inspired licks give way to garage-y rock outs and fuzzed-out Rhodes piano. "Dark/Warm Air" takes a gentler approach, bringing together delicate guitar arpeggios with baroque pop breakdowns and a dash of tropical Mellotron samples.

With the completion of High School, the band members now have their sights set on a sophomore LP. While it remains to be seen in which direction they will steer their music, one thing is certain: We Are The City will continue their attempt to push musical boundaries and hopefully stumble across something not yet heard in the process.

Calum Hughes
Growing up in Northern BC, Calum started performing at age 6. This has brought him to perform all over North America. To date, Calum has recorded three albums as a founding member of the band Kinship and one solo album called “And that’s OK with Me”. Calum has been invited to perform all over North America at such festivals as NXNE, NXNW, SXSW, COCA. Calum’s penmanship has shown through in his freshman album (First Born) and sophomore album (Next of Kin) with sales over 25,000 units. Flash forward a few years and Calum found himself winning Western Canada Songwriting Competition for a “Single Soldier”. That album, Calum’s third, (Boneshaker) won album of the year in the BCIMA’s. (BC Interior Music Awards – then called the Scorpion Music Awards).

Jeff Piattelli
Jeff Piattelli was born and raised in Kelowna BC. He started playing guitar when he was 13 and I hasn’t put it down since. He is a self taught guitarist and singer and writes all his own music and lyrics. Piatelli originally started his music career off in the metal scene and spent a good part of 3 or 4 years in various metal bands. It never quite went the direction he had hoped to take as a musician, so eventually he gave it up. About 3 years ago he decided to make a complete 180 and started singer/songwriting. It was in this state that he felt the most comfortable, and soon grew to love the style of music. To date, his achievements consist of having played at Kelowna’s Wakefest, Winning the Lee’s Music Battle of the Bands, Dry Grad Radio Star, and also having my song “Beautiful Things” played on local radio stations. He recently recorded a CD which is titled “Listen In” at B&G studios.

Mark Irving
Mark Irving, a captivating singer/songwriter based out of Kelowna, BC, has been songwriting for over 15 years. After having his first piano lesson at the age of 5 it soon became clear that Mark was a natural born craftsman in musical arts. Adding the guitar to his workshop at the age of 12 he then quickly began writing, arranging and performing songs. He began pursuing music seriously in 2005 after winning a city-wide songwriting competition hosted by Escape Artist Music, where he received a recording package at a local studio and tracked his first demo. Spending the next 5 years writing and touring western Canada he has crafted a sound that has won the hearts of many. His most recent success was winning a cross Canada talent search hosted by GMA Canada in 2010, after having made top 7 in the songwriting competition the previous year. Mark Irving’s debut EP entitled “Memories of Tomorrow” was released in spring 2011. Known for his honest vulnerability which is captured in raw vocal lyrical finesse and song writing genius, Mark Irving’s indie folk-rock music and performances are crafted to a large demographic and is sure to leave you inspired.
