In 1962, Neil Sedaka said, "Breaking up is hard to do." Well, breaking up just got a whole lot easier with Unpersons, the full-on fourth album in The Pack a.d.'s indomitable catalogue. This is the album to vaporize those who shall not be named, and erase any trace of their existence with a dense cloud of fuzz bomb riffs, tribal rhythms, and hard (legal) drugs.

Library Voices would surely be kicked out of a library if they ever played in one, but this fearless ten member band, which includes full-on horns, strings and accordions, will keep your feet tapping and your body moving right until their last number. Haling from Regina, Saskatchewan, the band was nominated for Independent Album of the Year at both the 2009 and 2010 Western Canadian Music Awards and SPIN Magazine described them as "leaning on well-edited art school essentials, from restrained flourishes of unadorned guitars to playful keyboards and cutesy boy-girl vocals.”

ROCOCODE is an unfamiliar band made up of familiar faces. Dueling boy/girl lead vocals of Laura Smith and Andrew Braun are surrounded and supported by a punishing rhythm section of Shaun Huberts and Johnny Andrews. Their bold take on indie pop is equal parts arty, accessible, sexy, sweet, badass, bent and beautiful. The band’s members boast an impressive collective resume that reads like a who’s who of the burgeoning Canadian Indie scene.

Ra Ra Riot finds strength in subtlety and refraction, a band that cooks with indirect heat — melding taut rhythms with lush chamber pop, subtle psychedelia, infectious melodies, and lyrics. Incidentally, while you'd be hard-pressed to get them to admit it, Dinosaur Bones have inadvertently become the poster boys for abandoning education in the name of rock n' roll.
