Day 3 ( or according to me - Day 2) of the Peak Performance Project has begun and I have already drank enough coffee to kill a small bear. Although I am not partial to the 7:30 am wake up calls, I am partial to watching the sun rise over the misty mountains.

Rock Ridge Canyon is (maybe) nestled in the heart of the Nicola Valley, near the homey town of Princeton, BC. This place is absolutely beautiful! I really don't think a better place could have been chosen. It's so nice to get away from all the hustle and bustle (pardon the cliche) of the city to a place where there is more chance of me being eaten by a cougar (or a deer if you're Cayne) than me getting a signal on my cellphone. There's almost too much to do here! Canada's longest zip line, lake (complete with a blob!), kayaks, bikes, ball hockey, b-ball, pool, bird watching (the occasional boy has also been watched through my binoculars), and so much more! The staff here is so friendly and I'm jealous that I don't get to spend my whole summer here soaking up the sun in the wilderness.

Yesterday went awesome - the showcases last night definitely set the bar for the rest of the performers. Jackson Cook, Wassabi Collective, TEA, and Bend Sinister really kicked some band camp ass. The Chief (sound manager for Nickelback, manager of Hinder and Faber Drive, etc. etc.) was our keynote speaker yesterday morning. He definitely gave everyone (another) wake up call while informing us about the current state of the music industry. What can I say other than singles are the new full-lengths?

Well folks, I'm going to keep this one short (if you can call this short) and leave you with the link to Brandon and Joe's lovely compilation of Day 1 as well as the link to all the performer blogs on the Peak Performance website.

Stay wild,

- P.
