Good morning chicklets,

It's the morning of Day 4? (There are a few inconsistencies in which day it actually is, we're mostly counting our arrival day here as the first day) My espresso by my side, Barney Bentall just finished an inspiring acoustic performance after breakfast. He's up on stage right now during our opening key note for the day. There is discussion of rashes (of the road variety) as last night the faculty took on the bands. They may have bit off more than they can chew as it turns out there may, in fact, be more bands than people teaching the bands. It was an epic performance and we even had the Stanley Cup present! Well, a Stanley Cup present. Pyper fashioned one out of tinfoil and plastic cups, we're planning on bringing it back to Habitat for you all to see (assuming it lasts the week).

These mountains are incredible, there is literally a peak (they call it a pinnacle, but this ain't no Pinnacle Performance Project) you can see in the distance during some interviews in the Day Three film that's now in our news archives.

Chief and Bentall leave today, but Jill Barber will be arriving tonight for her addition to the panel tomorrow eve which is quite exciting (see her brother at Habitat September 27th)

We've been getting up at 7am and going to bed at 3am, but our days are filled with so much fun that it's more than tolerable. It's awe-inspiring up here. Quinn and I hit up an obstacle course that was 30 feet up in the air yesterday, felt like we were trying to balance mind, body and soul. I don't eat this healthy or get this much exercise back home, that's for sure. We're hitting the bed hard at night.

We've been up to some pranks with the We Are The City boys, and so far having a fantastic time chilling with Melissa from Wassabi Collective, Adaline and some of the other peeps at their jam last night!

After that, around 1am, we worked on a PSA. Maybe you've heard, maybe you haven't, but the BC Government plans to cut funding to Arts and Culture by up to 50% on September 1, 2009.  This may mean 100% cuts to some organizations like Music BC. On Saturday August 29th, as a show of solidarity, we are asking all artists to perform 50% of a piece, and tell the audience why you stopped. If you feel passionate about this, blog, tweet, Facebook, scream it out to the sky. Link people to this video, let your MLA know how you feel.

Things I'm looking forward to today, booking manager of MGMT is here, sun may be coming out at some point (looking a little grey right now), climbing the mountain, and jumping from the top of a telephone pole to a swinging bar. No, really.

Love
