The next adventure begins ....
Well here I find myself on my next adventure. I'm in the middle of transit sitting in LAX, I left Kelowna 12 hours ago and I still have my 14 hour flight to endure. Before anyone starts to feel too bad for me I should mention that my 14 hour flight is about to take me to AUSTRALIA !!!!!!!
Anyone that knows me knows of my love for traveling but for those of you that don't know me maybe I should give you a quick catch up. I'm 28 years old and have been born and raised in Kelowna. I absolutely love where I am from but I think one of the reasons I've lasted that long in Kelowna is that over the last 5 years I've had some pretty amazing adventures and trips that always have me come back with a great appreciation for the comforts of home.
You'd think with the amount of time I've been in airports and on planes that I'd be used to it but I'm not, truthfully I hate it and always find myself dreading the 1st part of my trip. For the last few weeks people have been asking me if I'm excited and it was the only tiniest bit that was. I always find myself stressed to the max with the pre trip planning and it's not till I reach my destination that I breathe a sigh of relief. So in 15 hours time is when the smile will hit my face :).
Some of you might be asking why Australia for me? Besides the obvious of the beaches and warm weather a very big portion of my nearest and dearest are of the Aussie breed. After 2 seasons of Big White I've made some of the greatest friendships of my life. So this 8 week tour of mine will have me catching up with a mass amount of people. Some I haven't seen in over a year and some I saw yesterday (no joke). I fly into Brisbane and will be spending 3 weeks in the Queensland area. From there I make my way to Byron Bay (the place that everyone tells I'll love the most) and start my 2 week roadie in a camper van to the south side of Sydney. From there to I fly to Melbourne and drive the Great Ocean Road to Adelaide. Then fly to Perth for a week before I head back to Brissy for my final few days.
Think I'm crazy for trying to cram that into 8 weeks? Maybe I am but one thing I predict I'm going to have the time of my life!!!! So follow along with me on here, I'll be posting stories and pics every few days. Then you can come on my adventure of attempting to surf (sorry if that makes you nervous Mom), road trips, beaches, festivals, zoos, clubbing, wineries, SHOPPING and tearful hellos and goodbyes !!!!
