Hey hey, you you, sup’ muffintots?

Thought I’d give you the heads up, the hotly anticipated (by me, at least, and probably Sven too) Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains CD/LP/MP3 album hit digital and regular shelves yester-morn.

Sebastien Grainger, for those living under a rock, is one-half of the now defunct Death From Above 1979, who we had the pleasure of experiencing in Kelowna back when they were still just DFA (controversy!). The other half of that band of course being Jesse F. Keeler of boner-igniting MSTRKRFT fame (who you can see December, 18th here in Kelowna).

The self-titled debut album contains the previously released (and subsequently re-polished) single (Are There) Ways to Come Home? which before simply excited me about the upcoming album, but now teases and electrifies throughout, building to an exuberant climax in the last twenty seconds. If you’re a whiney little bitch for lo-fi recordings and distorted vocals—and most people know I totally am—get this. Get this or even your own mother will disown you.

Respect your mother.
