Winnipeg is known as the “Heart of the Continent.” In this beating heart on the prairies, there is always new music being made: in its clubs and basements, and in between work and life. Imaginary Cities was born in a club called The Cavern, in between sets. This new group, founded in a chance meeting is now readying to introduce their debut album, Temporary Resident in early 2011.

There will be live entertainment from SpaceMonkey and Melish, speakers and pizza slices for sale. Look forward to the Moustache shaving!

Often described as one of Canada’s best up-and-coming acts, Hey Ocean is a young band with an extraordinary talent for blending various musical styles into a brand of infectious pop that is uniquely their own. The Belle Game stand below Vancouver’s glittering buildings and tall, swaying trees, down at the beach. All six, or seven or sometimes eight of them face the ocean and play for you in the sun.

Musical anthropologists interested in the study of just how fast a band can evolve need look no further than the six upright, upstanding men in Oregon’s Larry and His Flask.

w/ Portage & Main and Joyful Door

If the Weakerthans had a love child with the Gaslight Anthem, and Joel Plaskett raised that child, you would have something close to Treelines. Portage & Main strikes a chord in the same Canadian vein as Neil Young and The Band, with its southern guitar and haunting vocals. While the boys didn’t physically ride the timeless rails like tramps, the songs are as honest and genuine as if they had, displaying the insight of old souls whose hearts are fixed and bound to a boxcar travelling across the country.

Let's take some time this winter to look back on all the great events we've had together! Remember these? If you do great, if not, we understand – we've been there too. It just means you have more to look forward to in 2011!

Lose some time in the media gallery and look back, fondly, on some of the great times.
