What time will the bands start at?
Doors will always open at 7pm with bands usually starting on or around 9pm. There is on average a 30 min break between acts.

How can I get tickets for shows?
We will sell 80% of the tickets for events online in our e-store and usually place 10 or so at Leo's Video, with whatever is left over for sale at the door at a first come, first serve basis. Tickets purchased in our e-store can be picked up when doors open door for the event. Please keep in mind that online ticket sales will stop for each show at 4:00pm on the day of the event. Advance ticket sales are subject to a $1.50 service charge/tax. Ticket prices and performing artists subject to change.

Can I get pre-sale tickets for every show, ever?
Mostly, but some events may be door sales only. We will do our best to let you know on our website & Facebook fan page if there won't be ticket pre-sales. In these cases there will be a first come, first serve policy in effect and once we sell out and reach capacity then we are very sorry but we'll have to have to turn people away at the door! Tickets for most of our shows will be available in our e-store.

I am underage. Can I come?
For now at least, Habitat is all ages. While we have recently been approved for re-zoning, our license hasn't actually been put into place yet which means the rules that will accompany the license have also not been put into place. This means minors are still allowed in the establishment. Once applied for, we'll know the exact stipulations that will accompany the license.

How do I sign up for open mic night?
Show up at 7pm when the doors open, and get your name on the list (chalkboard) around 7–8:30pm. There are only 10 spots available, so we run on a first come, first serve basis.

What am I able to do at open mic?
There is a 3 song/15 minute max per artist—no drum kits please as we are focused on acoustic, spoken word, and comedy. Get down here and bring your friends.

Can I bring my camera, or take pictures with my phone?
As of March 1st, 2010 we are implementing a new policy on this. No public cameras. Period. Not DSLRs, not SLRs, no consumer cameras... basically if it isn't your cell phone, it cannot come in.

If you wish to bring your camera to an event to take photos to provide us at a later date, please contact us prior to the show. Otherwise, if you bring your camera you will not be allowed to bring it on to the premises and you should be prepared to store it somewhere other than on your person for the duration of the event.

ZOMG it's too loud/The band suxx!
Both of these are subjective opinions and we don't supply refunds. You may bring earplugs if you wish.

I am in a band/represent a group that would like to consider booking with The Habitat.
Please visit our bookings page and in turn we will contact you with an offer!

I sent you a booking request one/two/three days/weeks ago! Why haven't you replied?
We receive dozens or requests every day and unfortunately due to the extremely high volume it can take a while before we have the time to get back to you. Don't take it personally.

When are you going to stop talking? I don't care what you said, I just want to e-mail you!
You may e-mail info@thehabitat.ca.

Where can I find more information?
You can join our Facebook fan page or even follow us on Twitter.
