Street Team

What is a Street Team?

A Street Team is a group of fans working together to promote the Habitat and bands on tour.

What do you get to do?

Members of the Team can…

  • Pass out flyers and stickers at shows and events around town
  • Put up posters and hand out flyers for albums and upcoming events
  • Assist in online campaigns for bands playing at the Habitat
  • Be the first to get news and updates
  • Access exclusive promotional material
  • Help promote the bands that power Habitat

Benefits for you and your friends…

You can request free stickers and flyers, and we have a great message board and community in our Facebook group. Maybe the best part is that you can even get free stuff for keeping us updated on all that you're doing out there, at school and in your community.

If you're a fan of the band, over 16 years old, and keen to help promote in your area, then we're looking for you!

What does this Street Team do?

The Habitat Street Team works both together as a whole and in local groups on several kinds of promotional jobs. The following are some examples of those jobs.

  • Requesting songs/videos on our local radio/TV stations by phone/internet
  • Voting for the Habitat and its events on internet-polls/-charts
  • Spreading stickers/flyers to advertise the Habitat among potential fans
  • Advertising the Habitat and the bands/or their songs/videos on websites such as Myspace & Facebook
  • Requesting articles about the bands in your local magazines by internet/post
  • Checking the availability of band releases at your local record stores
  • Requesting appearances of the band on your local TV shows by internet/post

Of course the Team members discuss these promotional activities within the Team, so next to working for the Habitat you might just make some (more) friends among your fellow-fans as well!

How to join the Team

As requested by the Habitat, there are a few requirements you have to meet in order to join, just so we know you'll make a good Street Teamster.

The Habitat has requested that all the Street Team members respect the privacy of the band and behave professionally and in a mature manner. The Street Team administration has the right to reject applications and remove Street Team members from the Team without prior notification if deemed you are not acting in a way that is acceptable both for the Habitat and associated acts. This means any behaviour that might impair the functioning of the team as a whole as reason for exclusion from the Street Team.

Rules!

Age 16 or older. You must be at least 16 years old to join.

Love the bands and live music that the Habitat hosts. We don't need to explain this one now do we?

What is in it for you? Apart from helping promote the Habitat?

How to send in your application?

To join, you make sure that you meet the requirements laid out, then send us an e-mail with the following information to info@thehabitat.ca.
